Volleyball Game Preview: Everett Warriors vs. Central Dragons

The Everett Warriors will square off against the Central Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Everett has 12 straight victories, Central has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Thursday, Everett made easy work of Fannett Metal and carried off a 3-0 win.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Everett was: they took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-4, 25-12.

Everett's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Karis McLanahan, who had five aces and one assist, and Aly Kifer, who had eight assists and four aces. Those four aces gave Kifer a new career-high. Ava Donaldson also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Everett was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 31 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 11 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Central lost 3-0 to Richland on Thursday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-16, 25-16.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Everett, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.

Everett beat Central 2-0 when the teams last played back in September. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
