Softball Game Preview: Salem Sundevils vs. Nansemond River Warriors

The Salem Sundevils will take on the Nansemond River Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Salem's last matchup with Bayside could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Thursday. The Sundevils came up short against the Marlins, falling 11-0. That makes it the first time this season the Sundevils have let down their home crowd.

Grassfield hit Nansemond River with a five-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors lost 11-2 to the Grizzlies. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Grizzlies: they've now lost eight in a row.

Bailey Hare made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Salem is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7. As for Nansemond River, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
