Volleyball Recap: The Covenant Extends Winning Streak to Six

The Covenant had won five straight games and Kalley Mcnish did her part to make it six on Friday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints thanks in part to Mcnish, who had 17 digs and four aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

The Covenant walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-10, 25-16, 25-18.

Despite the defeat, Nansemond-Suffolk Academy had strong showings from Jossy Byars, who had eight digs and six assists, and Campbell Spencer, who had seven digs.

The Covenant's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

The Covenant has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against St. Catherine's on the 23rd. As for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, they will face off against Norfolk Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The game will give the Saints their first taste of in-conference action this season.
