Softball Recap: Parkway Christian Eagles vs. Detroit Cristo Rey WOLVES

Parkway Christian never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Detroit Cristo Rey on Saturday. They put the hurt on the WOLVES with a sharp 17-1 win. Considering the Eagles' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Kayla Caruss made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.
