Basketball Recap: Rhordan Meadows Key Part of Team Effort in Loggers Win + How To Watch

Scio hadn't done well against Portland Adventist Academy recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Loggers walked away with a 56-45 win over the Cougars. This was payback for the Loggers, who suffered a 59-40 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Scio's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rhordan Meadows led the charge by dropping a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brycen Zosel, who shot 45% from the field en route to 11 points in addition to six boards and three blocks.

Portland Adventist Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Oliver Thompson, who posted 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Kellen McVicker also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Scio's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Portland Adventist Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Scio will venture away from home to square off against Taft at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Portland Adventist Academy, they will be home for the holidays to greet Santiam at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
