Basketball Recap: Gibault Catholic Takes a Loss

Gibault Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 43-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Granite City Warriors. The Hawks were not able to make up for their loss to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Leading Granite City to victory were Evan Brewer and Javier Cass. Brewer almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Cass went 5-for-10 on his way to 18 points. Brewer is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last ten games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jack Dutko, who posted four points.

Gibault Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 8-19. As for Granite City, their record now sits at 9-20.

Gibault Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 63-48 loss against Wesclin on the 15th. As for Granite City, they have also already played their next game, a 46-39 defeat against Mater Dei on the 20th.
