Preview: Granby Comets vs. Norcom Greyhounds
Granby is 1-6 against Norcom since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Granby Comets are on the road again and play against the Norcom Greyhounds at 2:00 p.m. on October 21st. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Granby is ranked 97th, while Norcom is ranked 101st).
Last Thursday, Granby was just a hair shy of victory and fell 21-20 to Churchland.
Even though the team lost, they still came through with several impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Christian Post, who threw for 148 yards and two touchdowns. Cameron Harris made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Norcom was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap two weeks ago as they fell 21-16 to Churchland. Norcom has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Norcom's defeat came about despite a quality game from Nakeem Jones, who rushed for 121 yards on only 12 carries.
The losses dropped Granby to 5-2 and Norcom to 3-4.
Granby took a serious blow against Norcom when the teams last played back in September of 2022, falling 40-0. Can Granby avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
