Recap: Borden Braves vs. Franklin Central Flashes
It was a good run, but the Borden Braves unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They were outmatched by Franklin Central on the road and fell 51-23. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Borden has scored all season.
Franklin Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lily Graves, who scored 14 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Graves has scored at least 25% of Franklin Central's points. Another player making a difference was Ashlee Baker, who scored nine points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Borden's loss dropped their record down to 13-2. As for Franklin Central, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Borden and Salem will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Salem will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 274th, while Borden is ranked 32nd). Franklin Central will be staying on the road on January 6th to face off against Roncalli at 6:00 p.m. on January 6th. Roncalli will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
