Volleyball Recap: Fernandina Beach Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Fernandina Beach lost against Fletcher back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pirates lost 3-0 to the Senators. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Fernandina Beach ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-21.

Ava Maggart paced Fernandina Beach's offense, picking up five kills. Maggart got some help from Zatie Venditti and her nine assists. Charley Richards controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Fletcher got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Charlee Troester out in front who had 11 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Troester has posted since back in August. Channing Wooten also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Fernandina Beach's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Fletcher, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Fernandina Beach has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Global Outreach Charter Academy on the 6th. As for Fletcher, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Mainland on the 3rd.
