Baseball Recap: St. Agnes Finds Home Field Redemption Against Blake

There's no place like home for St. Agnes, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Blake Bears on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Aggies in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won four in a row.

Josh Lopez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Danny Plamann was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last ten games he's played.

St. Agnes' victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Blake, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Coming up, St. Agnes will face off against Nova Classical Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Aggies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Blake, they will square off against St. Paul Academy-Summit at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
