Soccer Game Preview: Mariemont vs. Oakwood

The Mariemont Warriors will take on the Oakwood Lumberjacks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Mariemont comes in on three and Oakwood on four.

Mariemont proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by nine) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their defense stepped up to hand Madeira a 1-0 shutout. Mariemont's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Isabelle Iwanicki, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Oakwood got the win against Milton-Union on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0. The result was nothing new for Oakwood, who have now won nine contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Mariemont's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Oakwood, their win bumped their record up to 14-1-1.
