Baseball Game Preview: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Northridge Grizzlies

The Roosevelt Roughriders will face off against the Northridge Grizzlies at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Roosevelt came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-2 to Fossil Ridge. The Roughriders' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Roosevelt got a good showing from Wyatt McNerney, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. McNerney has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jeremiah Bradberry made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Northridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Poudre, falling 15-0.

Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Northridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-18.

Northridge's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Roosevelt has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .459. It's a different story for Northridge, though, as they've only averaged .319. Will they be able to contain Roosevelt's hitters?
