Basketball Game Preview: Western Branch Bruins vs. Manor Mustangs

Having just played yesterday, the Western Branch Bruins will jump right back in to play the Manor Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Western Branch knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Manor likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Western Branch didn't have quite enough to beat Lakeland and fell 65-63. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (61), the Bruins still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Manor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-52 heartbreaker at the hands of Norview. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Mustangs have suffered since December 16, 2023.

Manor's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Western Branch, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Western Branch came out on top in a nail-biter against Manor in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 65-63. The rematch might be a little tougher for Western Branch since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
