Softball Recap: Sarasota Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

It's playoff time, and Sarasota had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Sumner Stingrays by a score of 8-3 on Thursday. Eight seems to be a good number for the Sailors as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Ashlan Guengerich was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Mady Pint, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Sarasota kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.

Sarasota has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. As for Sumner, they moved to 19-11 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Sarasota nor the Stingrays have any future games scheduled.
