Volleyball Game Preview: Oswego East Wolves vs. Downers Grove South Mustangs

The Oswego East Wolves will square off against the Downers Grove South Mustangs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Thursday, Oswego East didn't have quite enough to beat Yorkville and fell 2-1.

Oswego East might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Yorkville: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 22-25, 27-25, 25-22.

The losing side was boosted by Nathan Thach, who had 21 digs.

Meanwhile, Downers Grove South entered their tilt with Neuqua Valley on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Wildcats.

Downers Grove South had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-19, 25-21.

Downers Grove South's win bumped their record up to 17-18. As for Oswego East, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-17 record this season.
