Volleyball Recap: Hillcrest Starts Season with Win on the Road

Hillcrest had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Thunder Ridge Titans. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The victory didn't come easy: Thunder Ridge scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 17-25, 25-20, 26-24.

Ali Maddux had a dynamite game, getting 26 digs and four assists. Another player making a difference was Natalie Petty, who had 18 assists and five digs.

Hillcrest was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Hillcrest has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Rigby on the 4th. As for Thunder Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Butte County on the 28th.
