Volleyball Recap: Calhoun Falls Charter Comes Up Short

Calhoun Falls Charter extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 15 on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-6. They came up short against the Thornwell Saints, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Saints this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

As for Thornwell, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-7. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since August 28th (when they won 3-0).

Reece Cummings had a dynamite game, getting 16 kills and ten aces. Those ten aces gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madilynn Porter, who had five digs and four aces.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Calhoun Falls Charter is set to square off against their familiar foe McCormick at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Thornwell will face off against rival Dixie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
