Baseball Recap: Pikeview's Undefeated Season over After 11 Games

After flying high against Princeton last Wednesday, PikeView came back down to earth. The Panthers fell just short of the Christiansburg Blue Demons by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

PikeView saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Bennett, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, PikeView fell to 10-1. As for Christiansburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

PikeView will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Ripley at 4:00 p.m. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Christiansburg, they will challenge Cave Spring at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
