Basketball Game Preview: Southview Cougars vs. Springfield Blue Devils

The Southview Cougars will face off against the Springfield Blue Devils at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Southview earned a 67-58 victory over Findlay. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Trojans are ranked 644th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Springfield ended up a good deal behind Whitmer on Friday and lost 85-68. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Southview has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Springfield, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Everything went Southview's way against Springfield in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Southview made off with a 61-38 win. Will Southview repeat their success, or does Springfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
