Basketball Recap: 19 Straight Home Victories for Resurrection Christian

Resurrection Christian waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 67-48 win over the Platte Valley Broncos. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Broncos, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Resurrection Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Callie Gillespie, who almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine rebounds. That's the most boards Gillespie has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lysette Baatz, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.

Resurrection Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Platte Valley only racked up three assists.

Platte Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Lauryn Uyemura and Bryla Bunting. Uyemura put up 20 points and four steals, while Bunting dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards. Uyemura has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 33 times she's played. Mia Koffler was another key player, putting up six points.

Resurrection Christian pushed their record up to 17-1 with the victory, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Platte Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season.
