Softball Preview: Colonial Beach Drifters vs. Lancaster Red Devils
Colonial Beach is 2-8 against Lancaster since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Drifters will venture away from home to take on the Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. Colonial Beach has given up an average of 21.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Colonial Beach couldn't beat West Point on Wednesday even though they stacked 11 runs on them in the second inning. The Drifters lost 34-15 to the Pointers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (ten), the Drifters still had to take the loss.
Colonial Beach got a massive performance out of Zayna Wolfe, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Lancaster let Middlesex stack four runs on them in the seventh inning on Wednesday but luckily Lancaster prevailed anyway. The Red Devils came out on top in a nail-biter against the Chargers, sneaking past 6-4. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 19th, but that streak is no more.
Colonial Beach's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Lancaster, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
