Volleyball Recap: Gardena Takes a Loss

Gardena lost against San Pedro back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates.

While Gardena had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-21, 18-25, 25-20.

Gardena has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for San Pedro, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-4.

Gardena and San Pedro will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Panthers see the court they'll take on Banning at 4:30 p.m. on the 21st. As for San Pedro, their break will end when they face Carson at 4:30 p.m. on the 21st.
