Volleyball Recap: Brainerd Falls to Sauk Rapids-Rice in First Game of Season

Brainerd had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm, falling 3-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-13, 25-9.

Bella Goggleye paced Brainerd's offense, picking up four kills. Goggleye got some help from Evelyn Hagen and her seven assists.

Sauk Rapids-Rice's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Brainerd wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Alexandria on the 28th. As for Sauk Rapids-Rice, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against St. Michael-Albertville on the 28th.
