Basketball Recap: Irving Comes Up Short

Irving was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 84-36 loss at the hands of the Tottenville Pirates. While losing is never fun, Irving can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while Tottenville is ranked 130th).

Irving now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Tottenville, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-4.

Irving will face off against Curtis at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Curtis knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Irving likes a good challenge. Tottenville has already played their next game (against Health Profession), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
