Softball Recap: DuBois Central Catholic Comes Up Short

DuBois Central Catholic and Union Area squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but DuBois Central Catholic had to settle for second. They lost 8-0 to the Scotties. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Cardinals haven't been shut out since back in April.

DuBois Central Catholic moved to 12-11 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Union Area, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-2.

DuBois Central Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Union Area, they will challenge Cambridge Springs on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Scotties 0.8, the Devils 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
