Shawnee entered their tilt with Defiance on Monday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Bulldogs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

In the three sets Shawnee was on fire: they won each by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-8, 22-25, 25-10.

Sami Rettig was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 12 digs and four aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September.

Rettig wasn't the only good servers: Shawnee was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in six consecutive matches.

Shawnee's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Defiance, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.

Shawnee will be taking part in a tournament against Lexington at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Defiance does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
