Football Recap: Jones Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Evans + How To Watch

Jones faced Evans in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Fightin' Tigers fell 28-18 to the Trojans. The Fightin' Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Jones' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dereon Coleman, who rushed for 165 yards and one TD on only seven carries. Daunte Wallace was another key back, rushing for 83 yards and a pair of scores.

Li'Darious Pryor was a one-man wrecking crew For Evans. as he rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jones fell to 2-1. As for Evans, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 2-1.
