Preview: Hinkley Thunderbirds vs. Palmer Terrors
Hinkley is on an eight-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Palmer a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Hinkley Thunderbirds will take on the Palmer Terrors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hinkley comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Hinkley fell victim to Vista PEAK Prep's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Bison, falling 67-0. Hinkley was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Meanwhile, Palmer came up short against Gateway on Friday and fell 24-17.
Palmer's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Arvell Amos, who picked up 119 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Dyson Sharpton who rushed for 116 yards. Amos' longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.
The losses dropped Hinkley to 0-9 and Palmer to 2-7.
Hinkley was dealt a bruising 40-8 loss at the hands of Palmer in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Will Hinkley have more luck at home instead of on the road?
