Football Game Preview: Fairhope Pirates vs. Foley Lions + How To Watch

The Fairhope Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Foley Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Fairhope's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last five matchups.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Fairhope and Theodore meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Pirates blew past the Bobcats 31-7. Considering the Pirates have won five contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Trey Garner was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 241 yards and four TDs on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 58 yards on only eight carries. Those 58 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Bryon Martin was Garner's top target, picking up 81 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Foley played a tough game last Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Mary G. Montgomery 50-7. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Vikings are ranked eighth).

Foley now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Fairhope, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Everything went Fairhope's way against Foley when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Fairhope made off with a 30-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
