The home team had won the previous three meetings between Kellogg and Orofino, and Orofino kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats fell just short of the Maniacs by a score of 8-7 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Maniacs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-2 loss on Friday.

Joci Lee was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Schilleriff, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Kellogg dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 5-1 Clearwater Valley (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 95.8% over those games). As for Orofino, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, Kellogg will head out to take on St. Maries at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Orofino, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Clearwater Valley at 5:00 p.m. on April 8.
