Basketball Recap: Sterling Falls to Yuma in First Game of Season

Sterling unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Yuma Outlaws on Tuesday, falling 61-39. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Outlaws from their previous meeting back in March.

Brody Sheffield was nothing short of spectacular for Yuma: he posted 16 points along with five assists and four steals. The contest was Sheffield's seventh in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Iann Duran, who had 13 points and four steals.

Looking ahead, Sterling will head out on the road to challenge Brush at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Yuma, they will welcome Wray at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
