Softball Game Preview: Michigan Center Cardinals vs. Lumen Christi Catholic Titans

Michigan Center hasn't had much luck against Lumen Christi Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cardinals will head out to challenge the Titans at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Lumen Christi Catholic will be up against a hot Michigan Center team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Cardinals' pitchers stepped up to hand East Jackson a 15-0 shutout on Wednesday. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Cardinals this season.

Meanwhile, Lumen Christi Catholic got the win against Marian on Wednesday by a conclusive 7-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.

Bree Okoniewski was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 12 games.

The victory got Michigan Center back to even at 5-5. As for Lumen Christi Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.

Michigan Center couldn't quite get it done against Lumen Christi Catholic in their previous meeting back in May of 2017 as they fell 9-5. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
