Staunton River took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against William Byrd, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Golden Eagles had just enough and edged out the Terriers 3-2 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Eagles.

Staunton River's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for William Byrd, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-12.
