Soccer Game Preview: Shasta vs. Pleasant Valley

Shasta is 1-8-1 against Pleasant Valley since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Shasta Wolves will head out to take on the Pleasant Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m.

Shasta lost 5-1 to Chico on Wednesday. Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Pleasant Valley kept a clean sheet against Red Bluff on Wednesday. They blew past the Spartans 4-0. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by three goals or more this season.

Pleasant Valley is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-1-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five contests. As for Shasta, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5-1.

Shasta suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Pleasant Valley in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Shasta avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
