League recap: Caldwell's hot bat leads Mulberry

4A District 10 league recap: 3/13/13

Dustin Caldwell was the hottest hitter in 4A District 10 this week, racking up a .467 average with six RBIs. Meanwhile, Mulberry put together a 1-4 week.

The Panthers' Jacob Wendle was the best pitcher in the league this week. He picked up one win and five strikeouts.

DeSoto County's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 28 hits and 16 walks, both of which led the league.

The league boasted five .400 hitters over the past week. The group was paced by Dalton Wiggs, who collected seven hits in 14 at bats for a .500 average.

Donovan Day drove in four runners as the Bulldogs defeated Avon Park 7-4 on Tuesday. He went 1-for-3 and scored one run.



DeSoto County's Day struck out nine the Red Devils hitters en route to a 7-4 victory on March 5. Over seven innings of work, he gave up two hits and four runs.
