Basketball Recap: Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Belle Chasse wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Chaela Alexander. The Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy Swamp Owls blew past the Belle Chasse Cardinals 57-30 on Monday thanks in part to Alexander, who posted 18 points along with eight assists and six boards. That's the most assists she has posted since back in December of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jewel Jefferson, who scored four points in addition to nine rebounds, six assists, and five steals. Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy is undefeated when Jefferson posts five or more steals, but 10-18 otherwise.

The win made it two in a row for Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy and bumps their season record up to 13-18. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 9-17 Belle Chasse and 9-16 Belle Chasse. As for Belle Chasse, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-17.

Coming up, Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Academy of Our Lady at 5:00 p.m. Belle Chasse does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
