Baseball Recap: Midlothian Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Midlothian proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Powhatan Indians 5-3. Surprisingly, this marked the Trojans' sixth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Midlothian pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 4.25 runs across that stretch. As for Powhatan, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Midlothian will host Hanover at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Powhatan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Richmond High School for the Arts at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
