Basketball Game Preview: Buffalo Bison vs. Douglas Bearcats

Buffalo is 0-10 against Douglas since March of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Buffalo Bison will head out on the road to square off against the Douglas Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

Last Saturday, everything went Buffalo's way against Burns as Buffalo made off with a 64-39 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bison in their matchups with the Broncs: they've now won eight in a row.

Buffalo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brady Engling, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds. Engling has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. Zayne Huber was another key player, putting up 14 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Douglas, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 76-54 margin over Torrington on Friday. The Bearcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 22 points or more this season.

Douglas has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points over those games. As for Buffalo, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.

Buffalo suffered a grim 73-51 defeat to Douglas when the teams last played back in January. Can Buffalo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
