Softball Recap: Daphne Gets the Win

After only two runs in their last game, Daphne made sure to put some runs up on the board against Madison Central on Monday. The Trojans walked away with an 18-15 victory over the Jaguars. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Campbell Hicks looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Daphne got a massive performance out of Karsyn Barnett, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 4-for-6. What's more, Barnett posted two runs, the most she's had since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Meredith Stephens, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

Daphne's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Madison Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Daphne is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Mobile Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Madison Central, they will take on Kosciusko at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
