Baseball Recap: Cresskill Takes a Loss

Cresskill fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Hasbrouck Heights on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They came up short against the Aviators, falling 13-7. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Aviators apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Tyler Manarang was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all six of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to triples, as he's now hit at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Angelo Cristantiello, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Cresskill's loss dropped their record down to 10-7-1. As for Hasbrouck Heights, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Cresskill will take on Emerson at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Hasbrouck Heights, they will square off against Becton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Aviators are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
