Softball Game Preview: Sterling Raiders vs. Waltrip Rams

Sterling is 0-10 against Waltrip since March of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Raiders will be playing at home against the Rams at 8:00 p.m. Sterling has given up an average of 9.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sterling is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 18-0 to Spring Woods.

Meanwhile, Waltrip strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against Madison as they made off with a 19-2 win. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by nine runs or more this season.

Danielle Ward was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Holley Chavez, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and four RBI.

Waltrip's victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Sterling, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
