Softball Recap: City of Life Christian Academy Victorious

After losing to Meadowbrook Academy the last time they met, City of Life Christian Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Warriors skirted past the Mustangs 10-8.

Jenna Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and three unearned) runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Adelaide Rodriguez and Natalia Duran did most of the damage at the plate: Rodriguez scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Duran scored a run while going 2-for-5. Caitlin Watson was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

City of Life Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Meadowbrook Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Looking ahead, City of Life Christian Academy will challenge Merritt Island Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.45 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Meadowbrook Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Hernando Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
