Basketball Recap: Kennedy Skates Past DMLK with Ease

Kennedy won the last time they faced DMLK and things went their way on Friday too. The Commanders blew past the Panthers 63-10. That looming 63-10 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Commanders yet this season.

Kennedy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Makayla Johnson led the charge by shooting 62% from the field en route to 17 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Thanks to that strong game, Johnson now owns an excellent 46.4% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Autumn Rutter, who went 6-for-12 on her way to 16 points.

Kennedy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Kennedy's record now sits at 6-1. As for DMLK, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
