Softball Recap: Mathis Pirates vs. George West Longhorns
In what's become a running theme this season, Mathis gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the George West Longhorns as the Mathis Pirates made off with a 15-3 win. The victory was nothing new for Mathis as they're now sitting on four straight.
Alyssa Herrera made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Herrera was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Lexi Rodriguez was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Marivel Martinez, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.
