Marquette Catholic had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Tri-County Cavaliers with a sharp 51-27 win on Saturday. The Blazers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Laniah Davis continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 10-for-12 on her way to 23 points and three steals. Her afternoon made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Livia Balling was another key player, putting up seven points.

Marquette Catholic was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tri-County only four assists.

Tri-County's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sara Zarse, who posted five points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Grace Luck, who scored seven points along with seven boards and four steals.

The victory (which was Marquette Catholic's tenth in a row) raised their record to 22-4. As for Tri-County, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-3.

Marquette Catholic has already played their next game (against Highland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Tri-County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
