Basketball Game Preview: ConVal Cougars vs. Pembroke Spartans

ConVal hasn't had much luck against Pembroke recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The ConVal Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pembroke Spartans at 6:00 p.m.

ConVal is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 26th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They had to suffer through a 48-19 loss at the hands of Lebanon.

Meanwhile, Pembroke had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They beat the Bobcats by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 73-21. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Pembroke's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.1 points. As for ConVal, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.

ConVal ended up a good deal behind Pembroke in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, losing 46-31. Can ConVal avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
