Softball Recap: Gatlinburg-Pittman Takes a Loss

Gatlinburg-Pittman lost against Sevier County two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Highlanders came up short against the Smoky Bears, falling 12-3. The Highlanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gatlinburg-Pittman saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sadie Moore, who went 2-for-4 with two runs. Another was Ryleigh Mercogliano, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Gatlinburg-Pittman's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Sevier County, they pushed their record up to 11-10 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Coming up, Gatlinburg-Pittman will challenge Austin-East at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Roadrunners have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.14 runs per game on average), something the Highlanders will no doubt try to take advantage of. Sevier County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
