Recap: Eastside Eagles vs. Wade Hampton Generals

The Eastside Eagles lost to the Wade Hampton Generals back in October of 2022, but The Eastside Eagles didn't allow the Wade Hampton Generals the same satisfaction on Friday. Eastside enjoyed a cozy 28-14 victory over Wade Hampton. The win made it back-to-back wins for Eastside.

Leading Eastside to victory were Peyton Schrader and Noah Hunnicutt. Schrader threw for 257 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes, while Hunnicutt picked up 156 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Mal Brown and his 88 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Eastside's victory.

Another reason for the win was Eastside's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Jaquavious Dodd and his three sacks.

Eastside's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-5. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-10 Blue Ridge and 2-9 Laurens (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 20.9% over those games). As for Wade Hampton, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Eastside will head out on the road to face off against South Pointe at 7:30 a.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games. Wade Hampton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
