Basketball Recap: Isaiah Kish's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Calumet Christian over City Baptist School

Calumet Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the City Baptist School Overcomers. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Overcomers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaiah Kish, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 14 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Those six steals gave Kish a new career-high. Josiah Kpandeyenge was another key player, going 5-for-10 on his way to 15 points and five boards.

Calumet Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for City Baptist School, their record is now 12-3.

Calumet Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-50 win against State Line Christian on the 7th. City Baptist School has also already played their next game (against Quentin Road Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
