Basketball Game Preview: Legacy Tigers vs. Sylmar Spartans

The Legacy Tigers will face off against the Sylmar Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Legacy sitting on three straight wins and Sylmar on four.

Legacy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 77-70 victory over San Fernando.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Legacy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Michael Martinez, who posted 23 points. The game was Martinez's third in a row with at least 18 points. Pompilio Lopez was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Meanwhile, Sylmar posted their closest win since December 28, 2023 on Wednesday. They skirted past South Gate 61-59.

Sylmar found their leader in sophomore Andrew Galvez, who went 11-for-17 to rack up 32 points and eight steals. That's the most points Galvez has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cymon Millhouse, who went 6-for-11 en route to 18 points.

Legacy's victory bumped their record up to 10-20. As for Sylmar, their win bumped their record up to 10-18.
